Novli PDF and Multi-Image Sync Limits
Novli's cross-device sync limit for PDF and multi-image lessons is 5 pages.
You can still upload and study a much larger PDF, including an entire textbook. The limit only changes what you need to do when opening that lesson on another device.
Can I upload an entire textbook?
Yes. You can upload a full textbook and study it normally on the device where you imported it.
If the textbook is longer than 5 pages, you will need to upload the same PDF on your other devices to continue studying it there. Open the lesson from History and Novli will ask you to select the original PDF.
What about multi-image lessons?
Novli can automatically sync up to 5 scanned pages from a multi-image lesson. If a later page has not synced yet, open that page on the device where you created the lesson and allow it to finish scanning. You can then refresh Novli on your other device.
Frequently asked questions
Does the 5-page limit stop me from importing a larger PDF?
No. It is a cross-device sync limit, not a PDF upload limit.
Does the PDF need to have the same filename?
No. The filename can be different, but it must be the same PDF. If the file has been edited or re-exported, import it as a new lesson instead.
What if a page says it has not synced yet?
Open that page on the device where you created the lesson, wait for the scan to finish, then refresh Novli on your other device.
Are normal scans and pasted-text lessons affected?
No. This limit only applies to PDF and multi-image lessons.
Why is there a sync limit?
Large PDFs and high-resolution images can be very big. The limit keeps cross-device syncing fast and reliable while still letting you study large documents.
